Humanitarian Visas allow you to stay indefinitely in Australia and to propose or sponsor family members for permanent residence.

You might be able to get this visa if you:
- are outside Australia
- are living outside your home country
- are subject to persecution in your home country

- have not been able to leave that country to seek refuge elsewhere

- subject to substantial discrimination, amounting to a gross violation of your human rights, in your home country
- proposed by a person or organisation in Australia

- have an urgent and compelling need to travel to Australia

- are outside Australia

- do not have the protection of a male relative
- are in danger of victimisation, harassment, or serious abuse because of your gender
