This visa enables employers to address labour shortages by bringing in skilled workers. It facilitates targeted use of overseas workers to address temporary skill shortages, while ensuring that Australian workers get priority. Visa holders can work in Australia in their nominated occupation for their approved sponsor under one of three streams:

• Short-Term stream
• Medium-Term stream
• Global Talent Scheme
• Labour Agreement stream.

Eligibility

• have the skills to fill a position nominated by an approved business for an approved occupation
• have at least 2 years of experience in the nominated occupation
• suitable skills assessment for the occupation may be required
• have sufficient English
• meet health and character requirements
